The American lingerie chain Victoria’s Secret is to open in Churchill Square Shopping Centre in Brighton in place of HMV which closed at the end of January.
And the Spanish fashion chain Zara is to expand, moving into most of the space formerly occupied by BHS.
Shopping centre bosses said that Victoria’s Secret was continuing its British expansion by taking a 9,000 sq ft store – one of 30 to open across the country.
The Brighton branch will sell the full range of Victoria’s Secret lingerie as well as its “Pink” brand which aimed at the younger market.
Churchill Square owner Standard Life Investments said that the lingerie shop was due to open in the late spring.
At the same time Zara is upsizing to a 37,000 sq ft store at the shopping centre by taking most of the store previously occupied by BHS.
The fashion brand will trade from the ground floor and basement – and its existing shop will continue to trade in the interim period.
Zara Home will continue to trade from its separate standalone store in Churchill Square.
