A Hove pub has been shortlisted in the Great British Pub Awards. The Better Half, in Hove Place, Hove, is a finalist in the Best Newcomer category.
It was previously known as the Red Lion – or by some locals as the Dead Lion – before a makeover last year. Since reopening it has established a reputation for its food and craft beer.
The Better Half is not the only Brighton and Hove pub shortlisted this year in the finals of the Great British Pub Awards which are supported by the trade publication the Morning Advertiser.
The Bevy, in Hillside, Moulsecoomb, has made it into the final six in the running for Best Community Pub.
Morning Advertiser editor Ed Bedington said: “Our finalists represent the best in the industry.”
The winners will be announced on Wednesday 5 October at a ceremony in London.
