A woman was aghast when she returned to her car to find a heavy object had caved in its roof.
Clare Steere parked her car in Westbourne Villas on Friday afternoon.
When she renewed her ticket shortly before 4pm, she noticed a Luton van parked with its electric tailgate next to her passenger door.
When she returned an hour later, she was horrified to find the roof of her car now had a massive dent in it.
She said: “Something very heavy had obviously landed on it. The police have been notified as the damage is significant.
“It’s a long shot, but I need to try and find out who did it. Like most mums I need the car for my work as well as taking my daughter gymnastics training four times a week and my son rugby training.
“I know the insurance will cover it, but I am so angry.”
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “At 7.15pm on Friday (10 April) we received a report that just over three hours earlier damage had been caused to the roof of a car parked in Westbourne Villas, Hove.
“Enquiries have been carried out but no arrests have been made.
“Anyone who saw what happened or who has any other information is asked to contact police via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting serial 1344 of 10/4.”
At last, a PROPER news story! 😀
