A man was stabbed in a betting shop in Portslade after a row when a woman was sexually assaulted.
The attack happened at about 9.50pm on Friday (1 November) at the Ladbrokes branch in Station Road.
Sussex Police said that the suspect was involved in a row after being accused of touching a woman in the shop through her top.
He is alleged to have left the bookmakers then returned with a knife and gone up to two men and stabbed one of them in the arm and leg.
The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and treated overnight. He was discharged in Saturday (2 November).
The suspect, Marc Cugullere, 46 from Vale Road, Portslade, was arrested.
He was due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 4 November) to face a charge of wounding and sexual assault by touching.
He was also facing charges of assault by beating, threatening someone with a knife in a public place and using racially aggravated words with the intention of causing harassment, alarm or distress.
